San Diego Courthouse Wedding | Elena + Brenden

There’s something really special about a courthouse wedding. It’s simple, intentional, and focused on what truly matters.

Elena and Brenden’s day at the San Diego County Administration Center felt exactly like that. Just the two of them, surrounded by a few of their closest friends and family, keeping everything easygoing and meaningful.

Like many wedding days, the afternoon had a few unexpected delays on an extra warm San Diego day. Even with the heat, Elena looked absolutely beautiful, and everyone handled it with so much patience and grace.

Even the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating as plans shifted, which made such a difference. There was a calm, understanding energy surrounding Elena and Brenden the entire time.

Once they were together, everything seemed to fall into place. The laughter came easily, and the focus returned to what truly mattered.

Their Ceremony and Portraits

Their ceremony was short and sweet, but still felt really special in all the right ways.

After the ceremony, we stayed around the courthouse for portraits. The architecture there is honestly perfect. Clean lines, soft arches, and a lot of shaded areas that photograph really nicely.

The warmth of the day added a soft glow to everything. We kept things easy and natural, mixing a few guided moments with just letting them be together.

We ended the session right there at the courthouse, just taking a few extra moments to slow down.

Elena and Brenden were already married, but this day still meant so much to them. When they first got married, they didn’t have photos, so this was a chance to finally have these memories captured.

Nothing over the top, just something real they can look back on.

A Simple Timeline to Consider

If you’re planning something similar, I usually recommend around 2 hours so everything feels relaxed.

A simple flow could look like this:

First look (optional)
Ceremony
Family photos
Couple portraits around the courthouse

Keeping it simple allows you to enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
